June 2005 Inwood Helps Make Festival Drive Possible
More than 100 city officials and development partners gathered on June 16 to officially open Festival Drive, a road that now connects State Road 436 to Central Parkway. The road provides access to the developing Altamonte Town Center, which will include apartments, condos, retail and office space, a plaza, and a park.

Inwood served as the prime consultant for this roadway design project and coordinated the efforts of several subconsultants who performed specialty services such as surveying, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental assessments and R/W mapping. The project extended the roadway and created a new 150-foot bridge that spanned an existing retention pond.

May 2005 Inwood Awarded State Road 415 Design Project
In May, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) awarded Inwood the design contract for State Road 415 from Reed Ellis Road to north of Acorn Lake. Inwood will be responsible for the production of construction plans for the widening and reconstruction of State Road 415 in Osteen and Deltona, Florida. The firm plans to complete the project within 23 months.

Inwood's main objectives for the project are to meet traffic demands, improve safety and serve land uses.

April 2005 Inwood Awarded One of the Largest Projects in the Company's History
Inwood was recently awarded the Belleview Bypass and Baseline Road project, one of the largest projects in the company's history. Work has already begun on the project that is expected to take 24 months to complete and that includes the area from US 441 to State Road 35 (Baseline Road) and from SE 92nd Place Road to County Road 464.

As part of the project, the Belleview Bypass and Baseline Road will become four-lane divided roads. Baseline Road will be expandable to six lanes in the future. Inwood engineers will work on all aspects of the project including roadways, structures, intersections, drainage, signing and pavement marking, and utility relocation. Inwood also will perform periodic quality control checks.

As with any of its projects, Inwood wants to get the pubic involved with the redesign of the Belleview Bypass and Baseline Road. Public involvement is a key component to a project such as this, so Inwood has developed a comprehensive public involvement program. This program includes stakeholder and public meetings, project newsletters, and a project Web site that the public can use for questions and/or comments.
