Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a full-time CAD Technician to assist with plans preparation for utility designs and layouts and to expand beyond traditional CAD technician duties into utility coordination at our main office in Oviedo, Florida. Essential tasks include the following:

  • Clearly and honestly communicate via face-to-face conversations, video conferencing, phone calls, and email correspondence.
  • Contact and coordinate with various utility agency owners (UAOs) concerning the disposition of their facilities.
  • Draft plans and detailed drawings for utility, drainage, and roadway projects and assist in the preparation of construction bid documents and specifications.
  • Extract existing profiles and cross sections from survey data and terrain models.
  • Correlate, interpret, and modify data obtained from topographical surveys, as-build drawings, and reports.
  • Prepare documentation to fulfill utility permitting requirements.
  • Work with other disciplines to determine the horizontal clearance requirements to utilities along the project corridor.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to identify impacts and alternatives.
  • Coordinate with utility owners, engineering representatives, and with engineers.
  • Secure and evaluate existing utility information.

The position includes developing plans for roadway transportation projects according to established engineering standards and state or federal policy; preparing plans, estimates, or specifications to design transportation facilities; and making plan alterations and modifications of existing streets, highways, or freeways to improve traffic flow.

Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a full time, licensed professional engineer (PE) to lead our newly forming Transportation Structures group at our main office in Oviedo, Florida. The position includes assuming the lead engineer’s role on structural projects in a prime or subconsultant role; pursuing and assisting the pursuit of infrastructure projects involving structural design; developing and maintaining client relationships; recruiting, directing, and managing staff; growing the structural design and analysis practice within the firm; developing scopes of work, fee proposals and schedules for projects; and managing the projects’ production, schedule, and budget. The position will require working with other in-house practice areas in a team-oriented environment to enhance and improve the overall service experience of our clients.

Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking a full time, licensed professional engineer (PE) for the Project Development & Environment (PD&E) group at our main office in Oviedo, Florida. The position includes preparing alternatives, coordinating subconsultant efforts, report writing, task work order development, client contact and coordination, schedule monitoring/development, and other PD&E tasks as necessary, including developing plans for PD&E projects according to established engineering standards and state or federal policy; conducting ETDM analysis; editing/proofreading and critiquing engineering and environmental reports; assisting with public involvement activities, and otherwise assisting with PD&E studies and NEPA/environmental documentation.
