Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. (Inwood), is pleased to announce it has joined forces with award-winning structural engineering services firm, IDA Consulting Engineers, Inc. (IDA).

Inwood now offers a full range of transportation-related structural engineering services and is FDOT prequalified in the following work types:

4.2.1 - Major Bridge Design – Concrete
4.2.2 - Major Bridge Design – Steel

Inwood’s transportation engineers attended the 2015 FDOT Transportation Data Symposium this week. Hosted by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), the three-day conference kicked off on August 18 with State Senator Jeff Brandes, Chairman of the Florida Senate Committee on Transportation, emphasizing the importance of data sharing in the transportation industry. The event is the only one in the nation focusing on big data in transportation and  hosted by a state department of transportation.

Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. assisted Orange County with a first round of public meetings they hosted on Monday and Wednesday for the Waterford Lakes Small Area Study. The purpose of the study is to analyze the overall performance of the area roadways and multimodal network. It will result in a report containing a prioritized list of safety and capacity improvements.

In addition, Inwood launched a social media initiative. You can now connect with us online through Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and our RSS feed. The goal is to stay current and remain connected with fellow engineering companies, clients, employees, and job candidates.

In February 2010, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), District One announced the completion of the Fort Fraser Trail extension, located in Polk County.  As part of the design-build team, Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. was selected by FDOT to provide the engineering design of the trail.
 
The Fort Fraser Trail extension is a multi-use trail connection between the existing, 7.5-mile Fort Fraser Trail, located along U.S. 98 between Lakeland and Bartow, and the Circle B Bar Reserve’s 3.5-mile trail network. The trail extension provides regional, recreational connections that allow for a more pedestrian and bike friendly community.

Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc., located in Oviedo, is pleased to announce that the year 2010 marks the firm’s 15th anniversary.  The firm employs over 45 engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel.  Over the years, Inwood has developed a reputation of providing quality civil, environmental, transportation engineering, planning, and public involvement services to governmental clients throughout the state of Florida.

&In support of the vision impaired community in Central Florida, Inwood Consulting Engineers participated in Lighthouse Central Florida's (LCF) 22nd annual Sight and Sole Walk. The team of employees, family, and friends were among over 325 walkers who attended the event on Saturday, May 9 at Universal Studios Orlando. Inwood placed first in the Corporate Team category contributing to the grand total of nearly $42,000 raised at the event. This is Inwood's eighth year to participate in the walk.

Kristen Ganoff, Engineer Intern at Inwood, explained, "I walked for LCF because it is important to support our local community in need. I enjoyed raising money and awareness for such a worthy cause."

As part of the firm's community involvement efforts, Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. hosted a blood drive on Tuesday, February 3 to benefit Florida's Blood Centers (FBC). The "Little Red Bus" collected blood donations from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Inwood's parking lot. According to FBC, Inwood employees donated enough blood to save 30 lives.

"I participated in the blood drive because it makes a difference in our community. The company blood drive made it convenient and easy to make a donation. I am happy to do every bit I can do to improve the quality of life for others," stated Mark Hales, Associate Principal of Inwood.

For the third year in a row, Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. formed a team to participate in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) 5K walk. Inwood employees, family and friends joined over 5,000 walkers in downtown Orlando on Saturday, October 18. The 28-member team raised over $2,900 for the cause and was awarded with Bronze Striders recognition.

Inwood's top fundraiser, Janet Middleton, PE, stated, I am proud to support such a worthy cause. My mother was diagnosed with Breast Cancer this year. I want to do all I can to help her and others battling the disease to have a cancer-free future.

Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. has moved into its new corporate office building, located in Oviedo, Florida. Doster Construction Company broke ground on the project in October of 2007. Inwood opened its doors for business at the new location on Tuesday, September 2, 2008.

The building, designed by Hunton Brady Architects, is 30,000 square feet and just minutes from Inwood's previous location. The facility offers the space needed to achieve the long-term goals of the firm. It currently houses 62 employees and has the capability to accommodate approximately 130 employees and expand to 45,000 square feet in the future.

In an effort to support the Central Florida community, Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. participated in two important charity events this spring.

On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Inwood employees and their families and friends joined over 400 walkers at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs to participate in Lighthouse Central Florida's (LCF) Sight and Sole Walk. LCF is the only organization in Central Florida that provides comprehensive vision rehabilitation services to children and adults with vision impairment. At the event, Inwood was recognized with a trophy for being a Brightest Star fundraiser. In the past five years, Inwood has raised over $11,000 for the organization.

Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. ceremonially broke ground on Friday, November 9, 2007 for a new $7.8 million corporate office building, located in Winter Springs, that will allow for continuing growth and expansion of the firm.

The 30,000 square foot, state-of-the-art facility, located at 3000 Dovera Drive, will sit on 4 acres of water-front property and is just minutes away from the current office location in Oviedo. Due for completion in July 2008, the new facility will have the capacity to house approximately 130 employees and the capability to expand to 45,000 square feet in the future.

In an effort to raise awareness, support the cause and bring hope to the community, Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc., formed a team, for the second year in a row, to participate in the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) walk. The team, made up of employees, family and friends, joined approximately 4,200 walkers at the event at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando on Saturday, October 27, 2007. The team raised over $2,000 for the cause.

April 23, 2007 | Events

As part of the firm's commitment to supporting the community, Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. formed a team to participate in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's (NMSS) 2007 Bright House Networks MS Bike Tour. The team, comprised of Inwood employees, family, friends and corporate partners, raised over $15,000 for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In addition, Team Inwood, made up of 46 riders, was recognized as the fourth largest team out of over 100 teams at the event. The participants covered 100 to 180 miles during the two day event, riding from Cypress Gardens to SeaWorld on Saturday, April 21st and then turning around and riding back on Sunday, April 22nd.

For the sixth year in a row, Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. has joined together to support Central Floridians with vision impairments at Lighthouse Central Florida's (LCF) Sight and Sole Walk. The team of employees, family and friends were among over 450 walkers who attended the annual walk on Saturday, March 31st at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs. Inwood placed first in the Corporate Team category contributing to the grand total of $80,000 raised at the event.
