East Central Florida Regional Rail Trail

Volusia and Brevard Counties, Florida

In 2007, the State of Florida approved the longest trail corridor purchase in State history when they purchased a 51-mile long portion of the Florida East Coast Railway. The East Central Florida Regional Rail Trail (ECFRRT) will ultimately be a part of the Central Florida Loop and the East Coast Greenway, an almost 3,000 mile long trail along the Atlantic Coast.
The ECFRRT is a critical element of a system of trails identified in local, state, and regional greenways and trails master plans. The completed trail connects Volusia and Brevard Counties by crossing the St. Johns River, and it provides users with an opportunity to view nature while biking or hiking through the pristine ecosystems.
As prime consultant, Inwood provided planning services including the initial project scoping for environmental and engineering issues, agency coordination, a Project Effects Evaluation Summary, and project responses for the ETDM program screening for the Florida Department of Transportation.
