US 17 PD&E Study - DeSoto County Line to Third Avenue

Florida Department of Transportation - District One

For the US 17 Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study project, Inwood provided public involvement services consisting of a project video, a project web site, and a series of project newsletters. A bilingual approach was used in all communication mediums due to the high percentage of Spanish speaking residents along the project corridor.
The project involved the development of roadway improvement alternatives for US 17 in Hardee County, Florida. As part of the study, numerous typical sections and 16 separate roadway alignment alternatives were analyzed in addition to the design of major intersections, impacts to existing right-of-way and the utilization of an abandoned railroad corridor. The project also featured two bridge crossings and flood plain impacts.
In addition to public involvement services, Inwood provided roadway and drainage design services, drainage analysis, utility coordination, and typical section and roadway alignment alternatives analysis.
