History

Alex B. Hull, PE, Andrew D. DeWitt, PE, David G. Coleman, PE, and Edwin H. Buck III, PE, founded Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. in 1995, offering utility design, roadway design and Project Development and Environment (PD&E) services. In March of 1995, Inwood was awarded its first project, a preliminary engineering study for Seminole County, and the subsequent award of the final design project. In August of 1995, Inwood was awarded its first Florida Department of Transportation PD&E Study, a complicated five-mile roadway project, in addition to the firm’s first utility Master Plan and design for the St. Lucie County International Airport.

In January of 1996, Inwood began the hiring of additional staff and by 2002 opened a new office building in Oviedo, Florida where stormwater and utility design were added to the firm’s list of client services. Inwood’s growth continued in 2007 when Planning Services were added to the core services, followed by the addition of Environmental Science Services in 2008.

In September 2008, Inwood moved to its new 30,000 square-foot corporate office building, located in Oviedo, Florida. The new facility was designed and built specifically to accommodate a growing, environmentally conscious engineering office with many amenities tailored to Inwood’s specific needs. Today, the firm employs over 60 engineers, technicians, and administrative personnel. Inwood has a promising future with a reputation in the industry as a trusted and respected firm committed to quality and integrity.
