Inwood Principals |
David Coleman, PE
David is a co-founder of Inwood and serves as the firm’s President. After graduating from the University of Florida in 1990, he provided construction inspection, water and wastewater engineering, solid waste facility design, and stormwater management analysis. His experience developed into municipal project management and state transportation systems study and design. From these experiences in all facets of statewide civil infrastructure development, David learned the value of client relationships, honesty, and trust. His well-rounded approach and excellent communication skills allow David to lead the firm with a client-oriented mission.
David proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1986-1992 and is a veteran of Operation Desert Storm (the Gulf War). He graduated from the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute in 2018 and is actively involved in the American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida in the statewide Transportation Committee. David has been married for over 32 years and has two adult children. A key factor to David’s success has been maintaining a work-life balance - particularly being involved with his family, church, and community. In his spare time, he enjoys golf and travel. |
Andy DeWitt, PE
In January 1995, Andy co-found Inwood Consulting Engineers to provide preliminary and final engineering design services for governmental transportation projects. He is an Executive Vice President and serves as Director of Inwood’s Transportation Division.
Andy graduated from the University of Florida in 1984, and he began his career working in the Tampa area for a very large (international) consulting firm doing roadway design. One of the first projects that he ever worked on was a brand-new, four-level interchange of I-595 at SR 7 in Miami, Florida. After that experience, Andy admits that he was “hooked on roadway design” and has continued to specialize in that area ever since. He continues to manage large design projects for the firm and has been instrumental in the success of several award-winning projects within the state of Florida. Andy has been married for 33 years and has two adult children. While away from work, he enjoys offshore fishing, tennis, golf, and travel. |
Ed Buck, PE
Ed is a co-founder of Inwood and serves as the firm’s Chief Executive Officer. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida (UCF) and has over 30 years of civil engineering experience. Early in his career he developed an interest in technology and its application to roadway design and plans production. He built a reputation as an innovator and shared his ideas through presentations and industry seminars. Inwood’s early adoption of technology became a key differentiator that helped set them apart from other firms.
Ed’s role in the firm has changed over the years from hands-on design and plans production to management of the firm’s accounting, administrative, human resources, and information technology areas of the business. His engineering and technology roots have given him great insight into the needs of the business and its daily management. Ed has been married for 29 years and has one adult child who graduated from UCF with a Mechanical Engineering degree. Ed enjoys spending time with his family and has many hobbies, including tennis, running, weightlifting, and travel. |
David Dangel, PE
David began his career at Inwood in 1996 as Inwood’s second employee and now serves as an Executive Vice President and Director of Project Development and Environment (PD&E) and Ecological Services. During his engineering career, he has been a construction inspector; completed traffic signal, signing and pavement marking, and maintenance of traffic design; performed design traffic modeling; and conducted preliminary engineering/PD&E studies.
David is a hands-on manager that likes to lead by example and he enjoys working with the public on transportation improvements in their communities. He is a graduate of the 11th class of the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute. David has been married for over 30 years and has three grown sons. He graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 1988 and is an avid UCF football fan and season ticket holder. In his spare time, he enjoys fishing, hanging out at the beach, and doing house renovation work. |
Mark Hales, PE
Mark started his engineering career in 1998 when he was hired as the very first intern at an engineering consulting firm in the central Florida area. He graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1999 with a BS in civil engineering with the goal of specializing in bridge design. However, early in his career he was afforded the opportunity to work on both roadway and bridge design projects. During this time, Mark found that he preferred the roadway design over the bridge design as the roadway path exposed him to all facets of the project, and he never looked back.
Mark joined Inwood in April 2005 as a Project Manager in the roadway design department. As a project manager he has successfully provided transportation engineering and project management services for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) as well as municipal government clients throughout Florida. He specializes in the design of urban and rural roadways, limited access highway design, milling and resurfacing, design-build, and safety improvement projects. His key areas of expertise include the development of horizontal and vertical alignment alternatives, intersection and channelization design, ADA improvements, work zone traffic control plans, pavement design, and specifications. Mark is now an Executive Vice President at Inwood and has been married for over 18 years. He has two teenage children. While away from work, he enjoys watching his kids play sports, being active in his church, going to the beach, working on cars, and home renovations. |
