Inwood Consulting Engineers has been selected by Lee County to conduct the Corridor Alignment Study for Luckett Road and Sunshine Boulevard in Lee County.
The objectives of the project are: to develop and study alternative corridors for Luckett Road from I-75 to Joel Boulevard; and to develop and study alignments to extend Sunshine Boulevard from the existing northern terminus to SR 80. The development of corridors for the Luckett Road Extension will include both a four and six lane alternative typical section. Inwood Consulting Engineers has been selected by the Florida Department of Transportation District 1 as the firm qualified to conduct the PD&E Study for State Road 82 in Lee County. The project begins at CR 84 (Lee Blvd.) and extends to State Road 29, a distance of approximately 23 miles.
The PD&E Study process will involve the development of roadway improvement alternatives and a comparative evaluation of the social and environmental impacts and overall costs of each alternative. It is anticipated that the existing two lane roadway will need to be widened to a six-lane roadway. New alignments for portions of SR 82 within the project corridor may also be considered. nwood Consulting Engineers has been selected by Alachua County to provide engineering and financial consulting services for the Alachua County Stormwater Management Program (SMP). Inwood's main objective for the project is to address the numerous flooding and water quality deficiencies throughout the County. The SMP will implement Capital Improvement Projects during a 6-year planning period to resolve these deficiencies and bolster the Maintenance efforts required to keep existing systems operating correctly.
Inwood will develop a comprehensive public involvement program to keep the public informed as well as get involved in the project. This program includes public information meetings, newsletters, advertisements and a project web site. The Florida Department of Transportation District 5 selected Inwood Consulting Engineers as the primary consultant for the SR 40 Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study. The project begins just west of SR 326 in Marion County and ends at US 17 in Volusia County, a distance of just over 40 miles.
Inwood will begin the study with agency and public involvement meetings to identify issues and determine the potential solutions to the traffic and safety concerns of SR 40 within the project limits. These potential solutions will range from safety improvements to new alignment alternatives. Each option will be evaluated to determine economic, environmental and social impacts. More than 100 city officials and development partners gathered today to officially open Festival Drive, a road that now connects State Road 436 to Central Parkway. The road provides access to the developing Altamonte Town Center, which will include apartments, condos, retail and office space, a plaza, and a park.
Inwood served as the prime consultant for this roadway design project and coordinated the efforts of several subconsultants who performed specialty services such as surveying, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, environmental assessments and R/W mapping. The project extended the roadway and created a new 150-foot bridge that spanned an existing retention pond. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) awarded Inwood Consulting Engineers, Inc. the design contract for State Road 415 from Reed Ellis Road to north of Acorn Lake. Inwood will be responsible for the production of construction plans for the widening and reconstruction of State Road 415 in Osteen and Deltona, Florida. The firm plans to complete the project within 23 months. Inwood's main objectives for the project are to meet traffic demands, improve safety and serve land uses.
Inwood was recently awarded the Belleview Bypass and Baseline Road project, one of the largest projects in the company's history. Work has already begun on the project that is expected to take 24 months to complete and that includes the area from US 441 to State Road 35 (Baseline Road) and from SE 92nd Place Road to County Road 464.
As part of the project, the Belleview Bypass and Baseline Road will become four-lane divided roads. Baseline Road will be expandable to six lanes in the future. Inwood engineers will work on all aspects of the project including roadways, structures, intersections, drainage, signing and pavement marking, and utility relocation. Inwood also will perform periodic quality control checks. |
