Utility ServicesThe aging utility infrastructure within the state cannot meet the demands of today's growing population. Inwood's expertise and experience in planning and design of water, wastewater, and reclaimed water systems will support the renewal and expansion of these facilities.
Our utilities team possesses a thorough understanding of the complex budgetary, regulatory, and political issues facing utility service providers. This understanding has been gained through our active longstanding relationships with many public-sector clients and allows us to balance practicality, regulatory requirements, and cost-effectiveness. |

PipelinesInwood’s main service area for utility design is pipeline infrastructure expansion or improvement. Our pipeline projects serve thousands of residents throughout Florida. Typical construction techniques utilized on our projects are conventional open cut, horizontal directional bore, jack and bore, pipe bursting, and aerial installations. We specify the latest pipe material products to meet the project requirements, including PVC, ductile iron, polyethylene, and fiberglass. Always cost sensitive, we endeavor to provide the most cost-effective design that provides our clients with the optimal, long-term solution. |

Pump StationsInwood has completed numerous wastewater and stormwater pump station designs, modeling, construction administration, start-up, and certification projects for municipalities throughout Florida. These pump stations range in size from small duplex grinder stations to master quad pump stations. We also perform the same services for reclaimed water high-service pump stations. Our engineers and designers are experts in stormwater pump stations for flood protection. Our water resources team models runoff from a watershed and identifies the flood protection needs. Our pump station designers utilize this information to formulate a pump station layout and size. Although the fluid being pumped is not wastewater, the design concepts are very similar to wastewater pump stations. |
Construction OversightMost permitted utility projects require formal certification that construction of the utility has been accomplished to meet the contract and permit requirements. This certification is normally substantiated by construction oversight or construction administration. Inwood's utility engineers and designers are trained and qualified to perform these construction services and have done so on numerous utility projects throughout the state at various levels of involvement based on the client's preference. |

Utility CoordinationInfrastructure improvement projects always involve utility coordination. Inwood has worked on numerous urban roadways, stormwater, and utility projects where coordination was the key to successful completion of the project. Within an area of construction, various utilities may exist or are proposed that will require coordination with other utilities, existing improvements, or proposed construction. |
The process of determining and coordinating utility locations along with the relocation/construction timeframe can be a rigorous effort due to the number of involved parties. We have been successful at utility coordination because of the knowledge, qualifications, and dedication of our utilities team. In addition, we employ individuals that meet the utility coordinator qualifications for FDOT Districts 1, 3, 4, 5, 7 and the Turnpike.
